SOFIA TROY
YOGA. MINDFUL MOVEMENT.
ABOUT ME
Thank you so much for visiting this space, and WELCOME! I am a Yoga teacher and practitioner in the Hudson Valley. I was initially drawn to the physical postures of Yoga, the Asanas, which provided a gateway to better understand the all-encompassing nature of Yoga.
I am endlessly grateful to all who have mentored, inspired, and informed my current practice. I feel genuine excitement regarding this ancient universal discipline as a connection. When teaching, I strive to support the experience of each student in navigating both movement and stillness through playful, thoughtful, breath-oriented classes for all levels.
I can attest to the unifying nature of Yoga, especially having taught numerous styles to a wide range of people, including trauma-informed classes to women in prison pre-covid. I am passionate about social justice in the Yoga community and beyond, and I am currently pursuing my master's in social work through Hunter College in NYC. For resources and more on the subject of social justice in Yoga, visit the Antiracism and Appropriation tab.
Take a look at my virtual schedule to hop on a live group call. If you are looking for guided movement and meditation for various lengths of time on your schedule, subscribe to the virtual library! If you'd like more personal support or are searching for a clutterless, invaluable gift of connecting to oneself for the holiday season, book a private!
Whatever your goals, ideas, or experiences, I would be thrilled to assist in all aspects of your journey of the self, through the self, to the self (-Bhagavad Gita 6.20)!
